Find 38% of 120.

Solution:

38% of 120 = 38/100 x 120 = 0.38 x 120 = 45.6
Therefore, 38% of 120 is 45.6.

Question 2

How many lines of symmetry does a rectangle have?

Solution:

A rectangle has 2 lines of symmetry.

Therefore, a rectangle has 2 lines of symmetry.

Question 3

Convert 180 millimetres to metres.

Solution:

1 metre = 1000 millimetres
180 millimetres = 180 ÷ 1000 = 0.18 metres
Therefore, 180 millimetres is equal to 0.18 metres.

Question 4

When my age is divided by 2, 3, 4, or 6 there is always a remainder of 1. But when divided by 13 there is no remainder. How old am I ?

Solution:

The number must be 1 more than a multiple of 2, 3, 4, or 6.
The least common multiple of 2, 3, 4, and 6 is 12.
So the number must be 1 more than a multiple of 12.
The first number that is 1 more than a multiple of 12 and is divisible by 13 is 13 itself.

So the number is 13.
Therefore, I’m 13 year old.

Question 5

Adam has four number cards: 8, 7, 5, 9.
He arranges them to form two 2 digit numbers. He multiplies the numbers together.
Calculate the largest possible answer.

Solution:

To find largest ppossible number, we have to multiply the largest two digit number with the largest two digit number.
So, the largest two digit number is 97 and 85.
97 x 85 = 8245
Therefore, the largest possible answer is 8245.
